the weight of knowing the earth waits to welcome us all one day and this moment and the next will pass with the sweet song of sparrows returning every spring and there will come a day when we are no longer here to hear them what does it take to remember that in the beginning we were wanderer's thrown out of the stars and into this world our hearts calling out for home and in the end we are wanderers still, constantly looking for the unexplained and the simple unknown what does it take to remember when my eyes open before the sun, blinking in the darkness that even though everything in my heart feels broken I can still hear the sparrows sing

Beautiful poem Raine. Synchronistic as my husband and I start the process today to put his father in hospice care.
